Adopt A Site Member activity

EGRCMN – Adopt a Site – Kalimna Gully

The EGRCMN Committee has proposed a number of activities to be conducted in 2008. A particular theme for one activity involves EGRCMN members “adopting a site”. The concept, which is still to be fully developed in consultation with interested members, involves the ongoing management and maintenance of a particular rainforest site. Activities could include flora and fauna identification, pest weed and animal management, restoration activities, maintenance, etc, and would be guided in accordance with a well defined and co-ordinated management plan ensuring co-ordination and integration with other interest groups and relevant authorities.

The site proposed for this activity is the Kalimna Gully, adjacent to Kalimna Jetty Road. Part of this site is currently subject to the Rainforest Restoration and Indigenous Training Project being conducted by the EGRCMN. (for details of the project see Indigenous Project

Initial site visit and discussion to progress the “adopt a site” concept was held on Sunday 30th March
